| Judith: Alright, maybe this lesson is a good point to talk about money in Greece. For example, should I bring a lot of cash with me when I am going to Greece? |
| Iro: I would say it’s a good idea because in Greece you cannot find ATMs, especially in rural areas. Besides, credit card are not accepted everywhere in Greece. |
| Judith: It’s possible to receive or send money via money transferring companies. The fees for the services vary depending on the company and the amount. The transaction is completed in less than 24 hours. |
| Iro: To receive money, you must provide an ID such as a passport. You can also use a credit card to withdraw money from an ATM machine for free. |
| Judith: If you have foreign currency, you can exchange it in banks, as well as at the exchange bureaus, at the airport or in the center of Athens and other big cities. You might be asked to provide an ID here as well. Let’s take a look at the vocabulary for this lesson. |

| VOCAB AND PHRASE USAGE |
| Iro: The first word we’ll look at is καλύτερα. |
| Judith: This word literally means “better”. And it often replaces the entire phrase “it would be better” |
| Iro: Today’s dialogue contains the phrase Περίμενε εκεί καλύτερα. |
| Judith: “Better wait there” or “wait there instead”. |
| Iro: Πριν από πέντε μέρες means “five days ago”. |
| Judith: The English word ago is strange. If you can say “in five days” and “four or five days”, why not “be four or five days”? Instead you suddenly have the word at the end. Well, Greek stays logical. |
| Iro: Πριν από πέντε μέρες is literally “before five days.” |
