INTRODUCTION
Jason:In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Greek learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.
GRAMMAR POINT
Jason:In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question ""Are you hungry?"" In Greek this is

Jason:Listen again and repeat.
Chrissi:πεινάτε
{Pause}

Jason:Now repeat.
Chrissi:λίγο
{Pause}
Jason:Listen to the speaker say, Yes, I'm a little hungry., and then repeat.
Chrissi:Ναι, πεινάω λίγο
{pause}
Jason:To expand on the pattern, replace a little with enough.
Chrissi:αρκετά
Jason:enough
Chrissi:(slow) αρκετά (regular) αρκετά
Jason:Listen to the phrase again, this time with enough
Chrissi:Ναι, πεινάω αρκετά
Jason:It mostly stays the same. Simply replace a little. Say Yes, I'm hungry enough.
{pause}
Chrissi:Ναι, πεινάω αρκετά
Jason:To use a different phrase, replace enough with very.
Chrissi:πολύ
Jason:very
Chrissi:(slow) πολύ (regular) πολύ
Jason:Listen to the phrase again, this time with very
Chrissi:Ναι, πεινάω πολύ
Jason:It mostly stays the same. Simply replace the word for enough. Say Yes, I'm very hungry.
