Intro

Chigusa: Listeners, you want to learn a language…but where do you start? |
Peter: There’s a lot to cover: grammar, speaking, reading, writing… and there’s no pathway to follow. |
Chigusa: And it can feel overwhelming... |
Peter: But…what IF you had a clear, step-by-step pathway... |
Chigusa: ...a clear pathway of lessons... that will take you from zero... |
Peter: ...to language mastery? |
Chigusa: Welcome to an Innovative Language Sunday News! I'm Chigusa and |
I'll be hosting today's Sunday News with my co-host, the founder of |
InnovativeLanguage.com... Peter Galante! |
Peter: Hi everyone! Peter here! |
Chigusa: In this Sunday News, you’ll learn all about our recommended |
Learning Pathways... |
Peter: Why they make learning a language easier than ever... |
Chigusa: How the pathways keep you on track, so you don’t give up on your |
goals... |
Peter: And how you can level up your language — from Absolute Beginner — all the way to Advanced. |
Body |
Chigusa: So listeners, if you tried learning a language before… |
Peter: Then you already know just how much there is to cover: speaking, reading, writing, grammar.. |
Chigusa: And you might have a lot of resources like apps and books… which also makes it even harder. |
Peter: Exactly. If you have all these resources… Where do you even start? Chances are you don’t start at all because it’s overwhelming. |
Chigusa: But if you’re learning with our program... |
Peter: ...you know we have recommended pathways for you to follow. |
Chigusa: Pathways are simply a collection of lessons and assessments … from lesson 1, to 2, to 3… all the way until the end. |
Peter: So, if you joined and want to start learning… |
Chigusa: …but don’t know where to start… |
Peter: Start with our Recommended Pathways. |
Chigusa: Here’s what makes them so powerful. |
Peter: Number One: You get a clear starting point. |
Chigusa: With any goal you have, it’s important to know where to start. |
Peter: You need to know the specific steps to take. Step 1, do this. Step 2, do that...otherwise, you’ll get discouraged. And Chigusa, I think we had that issue in the past. We have a lot of lessons and pathways… |
Chigusa: ...yeah… and learners didn’t know which to pick. Or which was the best one to do. |
Peter: So, listeners, that’s where the recommended pathways come in. |
Chigusa: The moment you sign up and set your level... |
Peter: We will assign you a recommended pathway. |
Chigusa: And you can find it on your dashboard. |
Peter: Depending on your level, it’ll be Level 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. |
Chigusa: You can also find it in the Lesson Library, at the top. |
Peter: And now, you know where to start… |
Chigusa: ...and, you have a clear, step-by-step pathway laid out for you. |
Peter: Okay, Number Two: You get lessons that are right for you. |
Chigusa: So, once you set your learning level… |
Peter: ...whether Absolute Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced… |
Chigusa: ...we give you a level-appropriate pathway. |
Peter: So, there’s Level 1 for Absolute Beginners, meaning you have no experience. |
Chigusa: ...There’s Level 2 for Beginners with some experience… |
Peter: ...and all the way to Level 5 for Advanced learners. |
Chigusa: So, your learning experience is tailored to you and where you are in your journey. |
Peter: Next, number three: You can easily stay on track… and reach your language goal. |
Chigusa: Sticking with goals can be hard, Peter. Don’t you think? |
Peter:Chigusa, it is. Actually, it’s very easy to get discouraged and quit… when you don’t see that clear, step-by-step path... from where you are now... to where you want to be. |
Chigusa: Yeah, I see it a lot. You can download a vocabulary app, maybe learn 10 words today, learn some tomorrow... But if you don’t know how this will help you reach your goal… and what steps to take… it feels overwhelming. |
Peter: But listeners, with the recommended pathways, you get a clear step-by-step pathway of lessons. |
Chigusa; All the lessons are laid out in front of you. |
Peter: Just do 1 a day… and follow the path until the end. |
Chigusa: By the end of that pathway, you will level up your language. |
Peter: ...and this brings us to the next point… which is… Chigusa? |
Chigusa: Number Four: You can level up your language skills.... |
Peter: ...instead of wondering if you’re improving. |
Chigusa: Listeners, once you’re finished with the Level 1 Absolute Beginner Path... |
Peter: ...You can move onto Beginner Level 2, Intermediate Level 3... |
Chigusa: ...and all the way up to advanced. |
Peter: And speaking of improvement... You can also assess your skills with our assessment exercises. |
Chigusa: You’ll find them throughout the pathway. |
Peter: So, after every few lessons, you get an assessment. |
Chigusa: These assessments test you on the words, phrases, and grammar rules you learned in the last few lessons. |
Peter: And we do this to make sure that you improve. In fact, testing yourself… where you have to remember what you learned… is the best way to improve your retention and learn faster. |
Chigusa: It’s called active recall, and it’s a science-backed learning strategy. |
Peter: Exactly, Chigusa. Anytime you try to remember something, you’re doing active recall. Doing this helps you remember better. |
Chigusa: So, listeners, take advantage of these assessments. |
Peter: Number Five: Our Recommended Pathways are CEFR aligned. |
Chigusa: This one is important for those of you who are serious about your learning goals… |
Peter: ...if you plan to take a proficiency test… |
Chigusa: ...if you plan to enroll in a language school …. |
Peter: Or, if you want to know where you stand in terms of language learning progress… this is for you. |
Chigusa: Peter, just so everyone knows, what’s CEFR? |
Peter: It stands for the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It's a way to describe your language level. It’s what many language schools and universities use to determine your level. |
Chigusa: And there are 6 levels in the CEFR- A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 |
Peter: If you’re an Absolute Beginner, you’re A1, and if you’re near-native advanced level, you’re C2. |
Chigusa: And listeners, our recommended pathways are aligned to the CEFR. |
Peter: Meaning, when you do the Level 1 Pathway… |
Chigusa: ...you learn all the words, grammar rules, and dialogues needed for the A1 level. |
Peter: We feel that by completing this level, your language is at the A1 Level. |
Chigusa: Exactly. Then, when you finish our Level 2 Path, you’re at A2 - the Elementary Level... |
Peter: And we guide you all the way up to the advanced level. |
Chigusa: So listeners, if you have a Basic, Premium, or Premium Plus subscription…. |
Peter: Then you already have access to all the lessons and pathways. If not… and… |
