| In this lesson, you'll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you doing?" After watching this video, you'll be able to answer this question and tell someone something about what you're writing. |
| Now, let's take a look at some conversational phrases! |
| Listen to the dialogue. |
| Τι κάνεις εκεί; (Ti kánis ekí?) |
| Γράφω το ημερολόγιό μου. (Gráfo to imerolóyió mu.) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| Τι κάνεις εκεί; (Ti kánis ekí?) |
| “What are you doing?” |
| Γράφω το ημερολόγιό μου. (Gráfo to imerolóyió mu.) |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you doing there?” |
| That's: |
| Τι κάνεις εκεί; (Ti kánis ekí?) |
| Listen to it again: |
| Τι κάνεις εκεί;, Τι κάνεις εκεί; (Ti kánis ekí?, Ti kánis ekí?) |
| This Greek sentence literally translates as “News your mom what?” |
| But it means “What are you doing?”. |
| Now, how do you answer this question? |
| The pattern is: |
| Γράφω [object]. (Gráfo [object].) |
| “I'm writing [object].” |
| For example: |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
