Amazing
Hello Dr. John Bethea,
Thank you for your comment and feedback.
Due to the fact that this website has users from all over the world and from different cultures and beliefs, our content doesn't go deep into topics such as religion and politics among others to avoid any conflicts among users. Therefore, our focus is mainly the Greek language and culture.
With that said, you can always join the Premium Plus program, where you'll have your own personal tutor to help answer any questions you might have regarding religious expressions and anything Greek-related.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We are here to help.
Kind regards,
Stefania

Καλημέρα, τι κάνεις πώς είσαι αυτό το πρωί;
Καλημέρα φίλε μου η φίλη μου , τι κανείς ;
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for your comment! I'd say "yo" is something only used among the circles of people who are into hip-hop music and other relevant genres. So it's not so common in Greece to be honest. I don't think anyone would use it to draw attention in general.
All the best,
Stefania

Yo!,in the Greek language? Lol. That's funny because I hear it in the Spanish and English often as I grew up knowing both languages and I only thought Yo like a form of slang in English. It can be slang in Spanish to also get someone's attention. Yo in Spanish means I. But if you say Yo! Or hey Yo in English or both you are actively trying to call attention to someone to respond to you. I just think it interesting and funny that it's also in Greek! 😄
Γεια σου ivonne lalyre,
σωστά! Just note that we don't use ? in Greek questions. Only ;
Τι κάνετε;
Cheers!

For the commenter who said that the speaker recordings are too fast...If you double click on the speaker button, it will slow down the speaker.
Μπράβο Μαρία,
You can simply greet people in Greece by asking them how they are :)
